| Monday, April 25, 2005 (Islamabad):
Pakistan cricket team was felicitated in Islamabad on Sunday
for their successful tour of India.
The celebration for Inzamam-ul Haq and his boys matched the
felicitation given to the 1992 World Cup winning team.
Inzy's team has been the toast of the entire nation after
returning from India with a win in the one-dayer series.
Islamabad was all decked up to honour the boys in green.
Confetti was dropped from a plane and the victorious Pakistani
team was feted as though they had returned from winning the
world cup.
Recent weeks have seen a new high for the Pakistani cricket
team, which had been virtually written off before it left
on the Indian tour.
But they answered their critics by drawing the test series
in India and then beating the hosts 4-2 in the one dayers.
Shahid Afridi, who played a leading role in Pakistan winning
the third test at Bangalore and the one-day series, was clearly
the darling of the crowds.
